Musically exceptional, 'To The End' is also notable as one of Damon Albarn's finest vocal performances to date (Alex is said to have cried when he heard the finished mix).

'It's a bit of a non-song in some ways. Or at least that's the impression you get from 'Parklife' version, which is mildly spacey nonsense, but Alex wrote another version that was really quite rocking. They'd done a version at Maison Rouge and it was great. I'm not even sure if Damon was on that. It was a really good song. Uptempo but heavy and nothing like the 'Far Out ' on the album. But I don't think Damon was too happy then about Alex getting credit for a song that didn't have that much to do with him and he applied a lot of pressure to not have it on the album. Certainly I was saying very strongly to Alex that this should be on and Alex didn't want to stand up for himself.' [Andy Ross]

'I always tried to make each one feel special. When Graham began he wouldn't even play the guitar in front of me in the control room. He'd sit in the corridor. Alex usually wouldn't have arrived at a bass line when we arrived so we would sit there, he and I, and try things out. I'd try and give each one my undivided attention when they needed it. На меня и прошлый-то концерт глубокое впечатление произвел, а этот... ну, это было что-то с чем-то.
Блин, я правда не знаю, что сказать
Майлз офигенный, одновременно нереально крутой и какой-то... милый, что ли, все эти его улыбочки и комментарии (да, русские девушки именно такие!). И я впервые на концерте спела Happy Birthday!
Все песни были отличными, но БЛЕАТЬ GIVE UP БЛЕАТЬ БЛЕАТЬ БЛЕАТЬ ЧТО ЭТО БЫЛО. Sympathy For The Devil в середине, а потом you're pretty, good looking but I'm looking FOR A WAY OUT. Бог мой. Давно я так не орала, честно говоря
Первый альбом, понятное дело, я целиком люблю, а из второго еще очень запомнилась Better Than That, ну и Don't Forget Who You Are, собственно, с удавшимся на все сто флешмобом и потрясающим сингалонгом.
Еще повеселило, что последней песней перед выходом они ставят Morning Glory, у меня сразу строчка из Country House в голове всплыла
В общем, было очень круто, и... вот знаете, обычно Майлза воспринимают как дополнение к Тернеру, TLSP, все дела. Но блин, я в этом году видела обоих и могу сказать, что Майлз мне понравился куда больше. Неудивительно, наверное.

Меня не перестает поражать, как искренне и глубоко Алекс привязан к Грэму, несмотря ни на что.



I thought he was cooler than me and better looking. And up till then I'd been feeling pretty cool - baggy trousers, paisley shirt, floppy fringe - and then I see Graham who looked like me only cooler and I thought, You bastard. I knew instantly that he'd be a big part of my life.

Everyone loved him though cos he was the best drawer and better at music than all music students. If there's a genius in the band, it's Graham. No doubt about it.
